Friendship issues.

Just started the blog so I guess I'll start with a rant/problem I'm having.

If you could respond with advice and opinions through email it would be very much appreciated :-)

Basically, a good friend of mine moved from Grimsby in early 2011. We've had quite a lot of trouble across the duration of our friendship. But, the main problem I seem to be having is whether I should stand down for her best friend.
We became extremely close, as close as we've ever been about 3 months ago. Her best friend was beginning to be effected, well she only made it known to myself that she was being effected at this time.

So, seeing it as the respectful thing to do I offered to back off in order for them to reconnect. Their friendship was longer than our own. Them being best friends a little over a year and a half now and our friendship as 'best friends' must have amounted to a total of 6 months or so.

I can't decide what to do now.

My friend took this in such a bad way when my intentions were only meant for good. She feels that the friendship meant nothing to me and I just drop her and pick her up again when I feel like it. I don't want to be that sort of friend.

As for her best friend? I was thinking about dismissing the idea of helping her out again and just fighting for MY best friend.

A few months ago, she helped me through an attempted suicide. Without her, I would have been dead.
I feel a strange connection towards her after this, I was also wondering if this is strange or odd?

I'm in my final year of high school so really I have around 6 months to repair the friendship or forget about her and leave them to get on with it.

I partially feel that this is disrespectful to my friend after all that she's done for me.

Do I leave?

Or do I stay?

Help would be much appreciated.
